What is most fascinating to me is how they can wistfully recall the “good old days” and bemoan the current situation with no ability to take responsibility for why things changed so dramatically.
Excellent article. So very important to try and amplify these voices. I have heard similar thoughts - how things were better when Israel was still in control, before Oslo - whispered by workers while in backrooms in Israel, far away from PA control.
I guess it points to all people in all situations both good and bad, wanting to live normal lives and yet even here in the west, there are more and more people wanting to silence those who disagree with them.
