Is this okay? The day after Nasrallah bit the dust.
All I want to do here is show you what today looked like on the map of our alert app.
My alert app is always on. I use Tzofar. It is what woke me up at about 6:30 a.m. that awful Oct 7th morning. And it has been buzzing almost nonstop ever since.
Available both on the web and as a smartphone app, I only have it as an app. It has been on 24/7, and set to buzz me for all sites in the country. When it started to wake me up at night, I began to set it for Haifa West only before going to sleep and reset it for all sites the next morning. That means that even if there is an alert for another part of Haifa, and I need not go to a shelter, I also need not wake up.
You probably know by now that Hassan Nassrallah was eliminated last night as Israel’s Prime Minister Bejamin Netanyahu was giving a speech in the UN General Assembly Plenum. As he was proudly proclaiming “Am Yisrael Chai,” if Nasrallah was still alive under the ruins of the bombed out Hezbollah headquarters, he was likely choking on dust and breathing his last breaths.
It was a relief for Israelis and we also did not know what to expect from the terrorists still left alive after about ten days of taking out the upper echelons of Hezbollah. With thousands of missiles and drones remaining from their original stockpile of over 150K, they could still do damage here.
They tried.
Most of the missiles and rockets (no drones used today) were launched from Lebanon, but the last barrage to the center of the country was launched by the Houthis from Yemen.
So far today (19:17) there have been over 900 alerts, up from 205 yesterday. This is what it looked like:
Starting small — three alerts at 01:23, ten at 01:26, ten at 06:17, 13 at 7:34. It is not clear how many missiles were launched for each barrage for this and the following alert events. Each site named and each dot on the maps indicate a potential landing site for a missile and do not indicate the number of actual missiles on their way to try and kill Israelis.
Then, between 07:59 and 08:05, a huge spread of land was under attack.
At 09:00, people in the region west and southwest of Haifa were sent to shelters.
At about 09:35, most of the north was on alert.
And two smaller barrages, one at 09:50 and the other at 10:12.
At 10:42 this morning
Smaller barrages at 10:45, 11:16, 12:11, 13:15, 13:21
At 13:40
At 14:01
And finally, central Israel was sent to shelters because of a missile from Yemen. One missile from Yemen affects so many sites because it would be intercepted at such a height that shrapnel would fall to the ground over a large area.
In spite of this huge amount of alerts, there was only one injury: a 68-year-old woman was hurt from the shock wave from a nefila (missile that was not successfully intercepted and hit the ground) in the northern city of Tzfat. There are no details about the seriousness of her injury.
As Shabbat is over now and the evening news is on, we are learning about nefilot (plural of nefila) and property damage. I don’t have all the details yet.
Some people experienced multiple alerts over the day.
The night is still ahead of us and there is no telling whether or not Hezbollah still has it in them to keep trying to pound away at us.
But we have been pounding Hezbollah all day and all night.
Israel is not supported on the Substack payment platform; therefore, I set up a way to make one-time donations or ongoing subscriptions in your own currency using Paypal (Buy me a Coffee, below) or the Ko-fi payment platform here. Israelis can send me a private message for another option.
Articles will always be free for all subscribers but a paid subscription or donation is a way to help me sustain myself while doing all the work involved in putting these articles together and would be greatly appreciated.

Russia is angry with Israel's success, so are Turkey and Washington, Iran Air has halted flights to Beirut and Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was transferred to a secure location inside the country with heightened security measures in place on Saturday.
I really really like the new and greatly improved Israel no longer going along with the global pogrom. Go Ariel !
For every rocket launched on Israel, they should return ten.
